Publicly accessible database creates orientation, legal certainty and implementation reliability for companies on the path to AI transformation
Munich, February 16, 2026. The Federal Association for AI Transformation (Bundesverband für KI-Transformation e.V.) is entering into a strategic cooperation with mITSM, Munich Institute for IT Service Management GmbH. mITSM is a member of the Federal Association. Together, both partners are launching a nationwide initiative to make qualified and certified AI officers for small and medium-sized enterprises visible, comparable, and hirable. The core of the cooperation is a curated training and certification offering as well as the creation of a publicly accessible database on the Federal Association's website.
The concrete added value for small and medium-sized enterprises
Many medium-sized companies want to use artificial intelligence productively, but face three hurdles: a lack of internal roles and competencies, uncertainty regarding legal requirements, and a lack of market orientation. This is precisely where the cooperation comes in.

Fast access to verified AI expertise
Through the database, companies can find curated AI officers who are qualified and certified according to transparent criteria. This reduces search costs, accelerates project launches, and increases the probability of successful implementation. -
Greater security in governance, compliance and data privacy
AI projects must increasingly align with clear legal and regulatory guardrails, in particular requirements from the EU AI Act as well as established data protection and security requirements. With the new initiative, companies gain access to officers who systematically master AI governance, documentation duties, risk management, and collaboration with data protection officers. -
Implementation instead of theory, using standardizable process models
The cooperation combines the association's curation and quality assurance logic with a scalable further education and certification approach. The goal is for AI officers not only to advise, but to operationalize AI programs within the company—ranging from use case selection and process integration to auditing and auditability.
Further training and certification via our cooperation partner mITSM
As part of the cooperation, the federal association provides interested parties, existing data protection officers, and managers from IT, business departments, and general management with a clear qualification path. To this end, mITSM contributes a training and certification portfolio that addresses, among other things, AI competence, AI compliance, and the establishment of an AI management system, for example in accordance with ISO 42001. If desired, the corresponding certification exams can be taken directly via the ICO.

Availability and next steps
The nationwide campaign is starting immediately. The database is being expanded step-by-step and supplemented with profiles, areas of expertise, industry focus, and regional availability.
Registration for AI Officers and Interested Parties
AI officers who are already certified can register for inclusion in the public database via a form on the Federal Association's website. Likewise, individuals interested in a training program including certification can register with the Federal Association using the corresponding form.
